Last night saw England being kicked out of the Euro2016 tournament by Iceland. If any of you watched it like myself, you’ll agree that we didn’t deserve to win. Iceland put in an amazing performance and has rightfully gone through to the quarterfinals to play the host team France in Paris.
Now this doesn’t console all of us at home or the 1000s of football fans that traveled to France to support England. Reading the headlines this morning, I can confidently say as a nation we are less than impressed. It saw the England manager Roy Hodgson quitting after the humiliating defeat. A very shameful time.
England’s exit from the tournament makes it the second time we have left the Europe this week. Voting took place all over the UK last week to decide our fate. The public spoke and as a result we are out. Hours after the result it saw PM David Cameron saying he would be resigning as PM come October.
I did vote in and was somewhat shocked the nation had voted to leave but we must move on from this and see what the future has in store for us all as a now independent country.
